Well, without a doubt this was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever photographed. Kim & Dom asked me to photograph their wedding in November last year. Such great people who I’m now lucky enough to call my friends.
The day started off dark and rainy with the occasional snowflake, but its November and Scotland so the weather didn’t shock or bring any moods down. The bridal party got ready a the very cosy Apex hotel. It was a calm morning until the last minute rush of course 😛
Once the sun came out we headed to the very beautiful and grand Mansfield Traquair for the ceremony. Its hard not to gasp when you enter this magnificent venue and it was perfectly lit with hundreds of fairy lights. The vows were super cute and Kim’s brother sang a beautiful version of Over the Rainbow.
We snuck out briefly to cafe Marlayne for some photos before the meal. Kim and Dom moved to California at the end of the year so this was a great opportunity to get some photos at one of their favourite and first date spots.
Then for something i have never experienced before. A traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and Dancing Lions. This was fantastic!
The moment you turn and speak to your new husband in Chinese and then suddenly remember he only speaks English!
Mansfield was incredibly decorated by Planet Flowers. The top table was a stunning array of gold and white flowers with glass top float over the top.
The guests sent the Bride and Groom off in a shower of sparklers.
Congratulations Kim & Dom, I hope you have a lovely married life in sunny California!
